My dear friend, Sarah Caroline, became a studio mate and began working in enamel on copper last year. Enamel is powdered soda-lime glass which is kiln fused onto a metal substrate. Sarah’s explorations inspired me to return to torch worked glass and the following images are some of my new designs. I had taken a nearly 20 year break from doing glasswork and in that time, there have been many new innovations in glass technology. The family of "striking glass" which responds to variations in heat and generates color shifts, has greatly expanded, influencing and inspiring many of the works.
